Materials
You are required to purchase all materials for class projects. Being unprepared for a project and without the necessary supplies will negatively impact your grade. Please also budget up to $50.00 for additional supplies as needed.
- Digital storage device such as a thumb drive*
- Digital camera. If you don’t own one, you may borrow one from the Equipment Center, 55 West 13th St., 8th Floor, Room 921.
- Class journal: sketch book no smaller than 8×11” of blank white pages
- 18 or 24 inch metal straight edge ruler (calibrated for both pica and inches)
- Triangles (adjustable or one each: 30/60, 45)
- X-acto knife with package of #11 blades
- Cutting matt
- Black ink technical pen(s) (00 and/or 1)
- Rubber cement (no spray mount in class)
- Rubber cement pick-up
- White paper glue (elmers, or and acid free paper glue)
- White vinyl or pink pearl eraser
- Scissors
- Burnisher (an old spoon works best)
- 12 x 14 inch pad of sketch paper
- 12 x 14 inch pad of 3- or 4-ply bristol, vellum finish
- Tracing paper, pad or roll
- White art tape
- Push pins (for tacking work to walls in class)
- Acid free white illustration board sheets will be needed periodically for mounting flat work and creating objects.
